The mission of the Outreach Ministry is to seek and create opportunities for the members of First Christian Church to, locally and globally, fulfill the Great Commission. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

OUTREACH PRAYER MINISTRY
Prayer is the “hub” of the Outreach Ministry. Without a vital Outreach Prayer Ministry we labor in our own efforts and limit the great success that God wants to grant us. The Outreach Prayer Ministry is committed to meeting on a regular basis each month to pray specifically for those who are without Jesus Christ in their lives. They pray for the saving of lost souls locally and globally. They pray for our missionaries, our upcoming Bridge Events, our community outreach events, our weekly worship services, and the Pastor’s messages. If you have a burden for those who need Jesus Christ in their lives are interested in being a part of this powerful and important ministry, contact Dan Deghi.
LOCAL OUTREACH
Personal Training
The most effective way to reach the unchurched is to encourage and teach our members about their spiritual responsibility to be “hope sharers” and “inviters” with others in their daily lives for Jesus Christ. “…Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…” (1 Peter 3:15)
Throughout the year we offer several seminars and classes that teach our members how to share their hope they have in Jesus Christ without being “weird”. We offer core classes and seminars such as “Discovery 401 – Discovering My Mission”, “Becoming A Contagious Christian” and “Jesus Story Presentations, Tools and Techniques”. We offer periodic classes such as “Fun and Easy Ways To Reach Your Neighbors For Jesus”, “Simple Answers To the Skeptic’s Questions About Jesus”, “How to Share Jesus at Work and Keep Your Job” and much more! Servant Evangelism
These are events that are planned throughout the course of the year to meet the felt needs of those in our community. In our world today, many people cynically believe that the church is “on the take” and question the sincerity of the church’s love for them. At First Christian Church, we want to be known as “The Church That Has Left The Building” as we enter into our community…and meet some very real needs just because that is what Jesus would do. “Community Clean-Ups”, “Home Repairs” and “Gasoline Buy Downs” are just some of the fun and fulfilling ways we use to serve our community.
Sharing Tools
Throughout the year, the Outreach Ministry provides simple and creative tools that the members can use to make it easier for them to invite their family, friends and neighbors to church. These tools range from “Creative Business Cards”, “T-Shirts”, “Yard Signs” and “Bridge Event Invitations”. These tools are free and available at the Outreach Ministry Table on Opportunity Way during church service times.
GLOBAL OUTREACH
We do not just reach out locally, we also have an equal responsibility to reach out to other countries, cultures and languages so that they can be presented with the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ. Our focused purpose is in targeting “unreached people groups” and supporting Restoration Church missionaries, both foreign and national, whose primary focus and purpose is evangelism and church planting.

Short-Term Missions Trips
It is our intent to provide our members with the wonderful and exciting opportunity to go on a short-term global missions trip each year. There is a meeting each year that presents the mission trip opportunities for the upcoming year. This provides those that are interested in going on a short-term trip ample time to prepare for it. We offer several trip opportunities each year. Examples of some short-term trips can include Mexico, Africa, Philippines, Chile, India, China, or relief efforts in the United States. BENEVOLENCE
The Benevolence Ministry is a ministry set up to offer limited short-term help for those who have legitimate financial need. We offer various types of help depending on the situation. There may be times when financial and/or spiritual counseling will be required as a condition for assistance. Sometimes there may be situations that prohibit us from helping and/or the financial resources are not available…it is our hope that assistance can be offered through a referral to another appropriate ministry, social organization or charity.
CHRISTIAN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
In order to keep the efforts of local and global outreach going for future generations, young men and women are going to need to be developed and trained for the work of vocational ministry. The Outreach Ministry wants to encourage young men and women of our church to pursue the ministry and offers limited Christian College scholarships to help this happen. If you are interested in attending anyone of listed Restoration Christian Colleges, please call the church office and request a “Christian College Scholarship Packet”.
